iLinc Awarded 2008 Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence Award

Web Conferencing Provider Recognized for Green Meter, Unique Patent-Pending Tool That Measures Carbon Emissions, Fuel Cost Savings of Meeting Online

Green advantages for conferencing technologies are evident as meeting remotely saves on travel, but certain vendors are leading the way with measurement tools, or calculators, that help customers better assess their contributions to the environment, triggering wider support for environmentally-friendly initiatives, says a recent report from Frost & Sullivan. This report names iLinc (AMEX:ILC), a leading provider of Web and desktop video conferencing software and online collaboration solutions, the exclusive recipient of the 2008 Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence Award for its Green Meter.

The iLinc Green MeterTM, an embedded feature that comes with iLinc web conferencing software, is a unique, patent-pending tool that automatically measures carbon emissions, fuel costs and mileage saved per participant, per meeting and provides metrics for the organization as a whole. All hosted web conferencing customers have access to the iLinc Green Meter. So far, users of iLinc have saved more than two billion pounds of carbon emissions.

The Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence Award is given to the company that has demonstrated unique product design and development initiatives, which is aligned with a sustainable and environmentally conscious objective within its industry sector. This Award signifies iLinc's identification of a unique and revolutionary solution with significant environmental benefits, while presenting tremendous market potential simultaneously. The Green Excellence Award also shows iLinc's overall business strategy as being sound and poised for success.

As explained in the report, "Frost & Sullivan applauds iLinc's efforts in leading the market with a tool to quantify the benefits of meeting online. iLinc's ground-breaking efforts to help its customers measure and track their carbon footprints is validated in the company being the recipient of the 2008 North American Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence of the Year Award. iLinc provides secure, reliable, easy-to-use web and video conferencing services," explained in the Frost & Sullivan Green Excellence report. "It was one of the first such vendors to release a 'green' calculator for tracking and measuring usage."

"We're finding that green initiatives are playing an absolutely bigger role in how customers make decisions," said James M. Powers Jr., President and CEO for iLinc. "Add to that growing widespread focus on reducing cost, travel time and carbon footprint through widely deployed web and desktop video communications and it's clear why iLinc web conferencing is being well received by small to large organizations as a way to gain greater control during a time of rising costs, and environmental concerns.

"iLinc's Green Meter is driving sales in vertical markets where measuring fuel savings is a mandate, like state governments. The State of Arizona, an iLinc customer, is seeing real benefit to the Green Meter and can show measurable savings as a result. Across its 14 state agencies using iLinc web conferencing, the State of Arizona has saved more than 63,000 gallons of fuel being used, $664,000 in employee mileage reimbursement, and 760,000 pounds of carbon emissions in the first half of 2008."

"With iLinc we are reducing the costs associated with travel and increasing the productivity of state employees," said Tad Wootton, Director, Office of Efficiency Review, for the State of Arizona. "But we also are heavily cutting carbon emissions as state employees come off the interstate and go onto the internet."

Note: iLinc filed paperwork in February with the Securities and Exchange Commission to terminate its registration under the Securities Exchange Act (so called Going Dark). As planned, iLinc then also voluntarily delisted from the NYSE Alternext exchange. By doing so, iLinc estimates that it will save over $500,000 of direct expense (and cash flow) annually, and will also be able to refocus those public company activities to more important operational objectives. Therefore, iLinc will not file any public reports with the SEC. However, it will provide an annual report (with audited financial statements) and a proxy to its shareholders of record as a part of its annual meeting.
